Log Jam Surf Contest in Jupiter, FL

This weekend is going to be fun, people! Make sure to come out for the second annual Log Jam Surf Contest this Sunday April 27, 2014 at the Marcinski beach access in Jupiter, Florida, just north of the Juno Pier. This is the 2nd annual Log Jam event with a newly added Surfboard Swap Meet Saturday April 26, 2014.

The idea behind the contest is simple: Longboards only (over 9’ required), single fins preferred, and you MUST HAVE FUN!

Last year was a great family event with a kids division, adult male and female divisions, and a stand up paddle board division. The creation of this event last year came about by local surfers and business professionals that wanted to have a fun-focused surf contest during the late spring/early summer time for longboards only. This event is best summed up by co-creator Jon Sullivan: “The main idea behind the Log Jam Weekend is to have fun and enjoy the beautiful beach we have here in Jupiter. This year we added a Surfboard Swap Meet as our pre-party event on Saturday for a chance to get the surf community together and talk shop about surfboards, and maybe people would find that new board they have been wanting, or see something vintage that they had never seen before. The event last year had 40 competitors overall, with a great turnout of spectators on the beach. We are expecting a good turnout of boards for Saturday, but again, we will be sticking with our theme of just setting up our tents and hoping for the best.”
